Are you looking for a cheap quick way to enhance your eyeshadow colors?

I love NYX Jumbo Pencils.
I mentioned them before in the past, and now you get to see actual swatches
In the picture above I used Too Faced Shadow insurance and then on top I applied these eye poppin’ colors. Now I just need to add a touch of powdered eye shadow and im done!
These will crease if you don’t use a primer and if you go over board. If you have oily lids and can’t get Urban Decay Potion Primer to work for you then i’d suggest skipping out on these. If you are a huge fan of MAC Shadesticks or Cream color bases these are great. Especially because NYX has unique fun colors like oyster and orange
I love pressing a little glitter or loose pigment on it. Sticks on perfect!
MY TOP PICKS! (even though I love them all!!!)
Available at
Ulta ? Maybe $5

The swatches look great! I like ‘Purple’ and ‘Black Bean’. Are these colours easy to blend?
October 16th, 2008 at 1:28 am
They are ridiculously easy to blend. I didn’t really blend my brow bone color to the others, but it’s super easy. It’s very creamy so a little goes a long way

elisa, i love these jumbo pencils! but have you tried their loose shadows or their metalic shadows (also loose)? i was wondering if their staying power was decent or not…for 2 bucks a piece, they’re such a deal!!

I have a few of the jumbo pencils and they are real easy to use. I like slate for a smoky.

I just bought one of these to try out. I like them, but the one that I tried (horseradish) was wayyy too shimmery for my skin tone. If they had more matte colors I would buy more.

Can you do a tutorial with these and how to use them? Do you just apply it directly from the pencil or take a brush to the pencil and then apply? I have a couple of these but usually just use them as a one color base. Your makeup looks great though!

I found that Jumbo pencils crease on me:(

These are so flippin awesome! I LOVE the pigmentation. Have you tried their eye pencils though? And if so, could you do a review?

could you recommend a deep taupe color. I used to use Aura by alexis vogel (an amazing creamy pencil) but it has been discontinued and I am lost without it!
Thanks

Which pencil sharpener do you use for the JUMBO LINERS? I have a makeup forever that’s got 2 size hole sharpeners, would that one work? Or should I buy the one for NYX?

How long do these last with a base before creasing?
October 20th, 2008 at 12:27 am
Makeupmavel- I don’t know what color is Aura but these are all the colors they have.

Ddukes720- I have an old Stila one. I think MUFE will work

You know what, these jumbos got really nice colors and all, I had tried to use it with UDPPrimer as base and they totally crease on my lids. I would love to be able to use them…but until I find some other primer that would go with the jumbo pencils that won’t crease on me …my 4 jumbo pencils are just gona sit there ):

wow! these colors are so vibrant!
I love them!
I was wondering if these jumbo pencils could be used as a base to make my matte shadows become shimmery?
did that even make sense…
thanks for the swatches

Hey pursebuzz! I love all the videos you have and I am so thankful for you putting up these great swatches. I just wanted to let you know that cherryculture.com has them on sale for $2 this week if you need anymore. I was also wondering if you had ever seen a clear sephora sharpener with a small and large sharpener, its around three dollars, will it fit these? I think I’ll probably just buy the nyx sharpener too, but I was just wondering!
Keep of the good work!

I realize this is an old post, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this! I’ve been wanting to buy the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils for a while instead of spending loads of money on MAC Paint Pots, Shadesticks, etc. But I have to order these online because my local drug stores don’t carry them. I was up in the air about a couple colours, but I am totally going to buy them now thanks to your post!

Never tried to use pencils for eyeshadow but seeing these picture, makes me want to try something else like this. It looks good, aside from being cheap. I’m in a very tight budget now and cheap makeups with quality results is what I’m looking for.
